đłď¸ For too long, billionaires, special interests, and voter suppression schemes have drowned out the voices of everyday Americansâespecially in Black and Brown communities.
Now, our democracy faces a full-blown assault. The MAGA agenda is working to dismantle our institutions, weaken the rule of law, and strip away the very rights that guarantee every voice is heard and every vote counts.
We canât afford to sit back. Itâs time to rise upâto defend our rights, protect our freedoms, and reclaim power for the people. Join us to hold leaders accountable, fight back against authoritarianism, and mobilize voters to protect democracy.

đŞ Trumpâs âwarrior dividendsâ will use funding for military housing subsidies
Donald Trump is promoting a proposal to provide âwarrior dividendsâ to military members and veterans. Critics were quick to point out that it siphons resources away from essential programs. âYour $1,776 âwarrior checksâ arenât Christmas bonusesâyouâre just stealing money out of a fund meant to help our troops find affordable housing,â Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), a former helicopter pilot who sits on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said Thursday on the social platform X. âOnce a conman always a conman.â â The Hill
𩺠This health policy expert assesses the current state of the U.S. health care system
The U.S. health care system is described as costly, fragmented, and deeply unequal. Prices continue to rise while access and outcomes lag behind those of other wealthy nations. âSo without these enhanced tax credits being extended, people who use the Affordable Care Act marketplace - that's HealthCare.gov or state-based marketplaces - are going to see their out-of-pocket premiums more than double on New Year's Day or over a thousand dollars more in their premium payments.â In his assessment, Larry Levitt, argues that real progress will require systemic reformânot piecemeal fixes. â NPR
đ¸ The Other Insurance Cost Fueling the U.S. Affordability Crisis
Most people think health insurance is the biggest strain on their budgetâbut itâs not the only one. Rising costs for auto, home, and other mandatory insurance are outpacing wages and quietly squeezing families nationwide. These expenses pile on top of inflation, making everyday life less affordable even for people who are working full time. â Bloomberg
â ď¸ Democrats Are Afraid to Say What Trumpâs True Power Is
Why do Democrats struggle to fully confront Trumpâs source of power? Dahlia Lithwick interviews Sherrilyn Ifill in a piece for Slate that argues that many avoid directly naming racism as a core source of his political power. That hesitation, the piece suggests, weakens opposition and obscures how racial grievance drives voter mobilization and policy outcomes. âIn fact, race is threaded through every institutional structure of this country. And we have someone who is exploiting it every day. Itâs not that Iâm talking about race, itâs that he just stood up the other day and said, We want the Danes, the Swedes, and the Norwegians. We donât want people from shithole countries. Weâre being told that itâs illegitimate to keep talking about race when weâre confronting a tsunami of a movement that uses racism as its stalking horse.â â Slate
đDemocrats to introduce stock trading discharge petition next year
House Democrats will use a procedural maneuver to force a vote on banning stock trading by members of Congress. âRepresentative Seth Magaziner (D-R.I.) said that House Democratic leadership will introduce a discharge petition in January to force action on a bill banning stock trading by members of Congress, the president, the vice president and their immediate families.â The move reflects growing frustration with stalled ethics reforms and public anger over conflicts of interest. Supporters argue lawmakers should not be allowed to profit from information unavailable to the public. The effort highlights mounting pressure for accountability and transparency in government. â The Hill

This is our why
For almost 250 years, democracy has been the beating heart of America â a promise built not by kings or billionaires, but by ordinary people: our friends, our families, our coworkers, and our communities. Itâs the teacher shaping young minds, the nurse caring for neighbors, the worker keeping our cities running, and the voter who believes their voice still matters. Power belongs to the people, and this is why we must protect democracy with everything we have â because when we defend it, weâre defending each other, our shared freedoms, and the generations who will inherit the country we build together.

How do we fight Fascism?
Hope
Hope is a powerful weapon against fascism, serving as both a shield and a rallying cry in the face of fear and oppression. While fascism thrives on division, despair, and apathy, hope inspires unity, action, and resilience. Hope empowers us to envision a society built on equality, justice, and freedom, motivating us to take meaningful steps to protect these values.
Respect
Respect is a formidable weapon against fascism, countering its foundation of hatred and dehumanization with dignity and inclusivity. By leading with respect, we create a society where collaboration and compassion overpower fear and division, rendering fascism powerless in the face of unity.
Unity
Unity is one of the most powerful weapons against fascism, as it dismantles the divide-and-conquer tactics that authoritarian regimes rely on to maintain power.
đ˝The strength of a nation is not its ability to fight wars, but rather by its ability to prevent them. - Gene Roddenberry
Together, we can protect and empower those we love, champion our rights, freedoms, and democracy, hold our leaders accountable to the peopleâs will, and inspire voters to make a meaningful difference.
